You have been one of the biggest speakers for Ron Mathis and Nations Baseball and I feel that if Ron Mathis had addressed people other than just those that he had a vested interest in as far as who makes him money and not I think that alot more people would be more willing to deal with him.  I applaud your efforts.  However, You (BABA) lost weekends at BLD's because you said that they were USSSA weekends and you lost them because you chose to go EXCLUSIVELY with Nations Baseball for LEAGUE AND TOURNAMENTS.  I have been told (By a tournament organization) that in order to get Nations tournaments you were asked to be exclusive to them just as Ron made everyone be that way that got USSSA tournaments while he was at USSSA.  Please address the Select Baseball Houston website article on now Cy-Fair and SKSA hosting Super Series events just not posting them on their websites.  If you haven't seen or read the article here it it copied off their site:

8/19 .... Spring Klein and Cy-Fair has went against Ron Mathis rule of hosting only tournaments sanctioned by him. This was his policy in USSSA and took the same policy to Nations now that he and Steve Allison have started it here in Houston! The smaller tournament hosts were given the choice of staying with USSSA or going with Nations and Ron Mathis.  They were told to choose and there was no option to do both.  Most of these smaller tournament hosts followed because of the fear that Ron and Cy-Fair and SKSA would squash them out!  Well now what are they to think when they find out that Cy-Fair and SKSA will be hosting SUPER SERIES tournaments in the FALL SEASON?  Will Ron now discipline his 2 CASH COWS for going against his rules of only hosting his tournaments?  How does the BABA, NWBA, and Laporte's now feel knowing that they walked away from USSSA when Cy-Fair and SKSA had something else working in the backyard?  It will be more than interesting to see how Ron Mathis attempts to smooth this one over with the smaller tournament hosts because you know that in reality he ain't about to attempt to take Nations away from Cy-Fair and SKSA.  What is Nations without Cy-Fair and SKSA anyway? NOTHING!!  Stay tuned as we will keep you informed as further details become available!  If you want to know the weekend of the first Super Series tournament that they are not posting on their websites but have already agreed to its September 6th and 7th.  Want proof here is the link to SKSA umpires board to see it for yourself:  http://sksa.cmiregistration.com/FileServer/Organization/Media/1ccd47ef-21ee-4bcf-b853-92fd42548b6d/4b64a9f0-300f-48f3-841e-35f749a1bb35/Game%20Schedule.xls

Still not convinced check out this website for Texas Tournament Baseball: http://www.texastournamentbaseball.com/

Now don't all those people that have been blindly following Ron Mathis and not listening to those that have known this man since he was Coaching the Houston Indians feel like maybe they need to check a little closer into what they are being told!  Congrats to all those leagues that meet and were told it was NATIONS OR ELSE! When in reality it was NATIONS OR ELSE for all of you and get every dime we can get for RON MATHIS, STEVE ALLISON, CY-FAIR, & SKSA!

I applaud Ron Mathis because of what he has done for youth baseball in the State of Texas. I have worked with him for a couple of years now, and I have found him to be conscientious, knowledgeable, professional, fair, and caring: all qualities that I greatly admire. The truth is that USSSA in Texas was so good because of Ron Mathis. It did not run on autopilot on its own. He was constantly working within the system to make the Texas program better than the National program, often leading the way for the National program, and often fighting the National office to help the Texas teams (such as with the roster issues last season that ultimately were the main cause of the split). Simply put, the National office is out of touch and does not care about what is best for Texas. Ron Mathis knows Texas intimately. He has dealt with the big and small tournament directors, all the teams; he knows the issues, and he is best equipped through his experience and skills to run the state. I gladly speak up for Ron Mathis, and I know that he supports me as well.

As far as being dictated that Nations directors host only Nations events: that just didn't happen. I don't know what "tournament organization" told you that we had to go "EXCLUSIVELY with Nations Baseball for LEAGUE AND TOURNAMENTS," but that never happened. However, BABA is going to go exclusively with Nations Baseball for leagues and tournaments because that is what we choose to do. USSSA is in chaos, and Super Series and Triple Crown don't offer the kind of class play that our teams expect. BABA has Nations tournaments all the way through July (not all are listed yet), and there is no reason, or advantage, to hosting any other sanction.

I feel that the problem at this point is "Cy-fair and Spring Klein" do not have the KAHOONAS to choose a side. Its one or the other. At this point they think they are bigger than they are. But they are only a product of their environment. USSSA has allways kissed their rearends. Because thats where the moneys at. The smaller parks had/have to ride the wave that they make and say nothing and do nothing from fear of banishment.
Teams will let tournament directors know where they stand by sigining up for their events.
