Nations Baseball is in the midst of freezing rosters and there have been few issues as it appears that the system is working well. There are a few issues that Nations Baseball knew were going to take place due to the fact that they were catching up for the last several weeks. Roster moves were made when teams didn’t believe that they were frozen, and they knew that would cause a few issues. They are working through those issues as they find them.

Teams may be re-classed because of one of these issues. Nations should be able to alleviate the problems before tournaments in most cases.  However, there are going to be times in the future that a team in a tournament gets moved up because of either qualifying in a higher level event or because a player on their roster was frozen at a higher level.

This issue will continue to happen throughout the season because of the way that players can move from team to team. Tournament directors can either A) have the team drop the player that is causing the issue and Nations will re-class the team, or B) if there is no time to re-class the team, just have the team play without that player on the field.

In the case of a team being re-classed to a higher level because they qualified at a higher level, then tournament directors always had the option of allowing that team to participate in the tournament and notifying all other teams that this is the team's last weekend at that class. This solution allows the tournament schedule to remain intact because of something beyond the director's control.

So this weekend, there may be issues that Nations is working through that may or may not get resolved before tournaments start. All teams should be aware that everyone in a given tournament was a team of that class at the beginning of this week when the given event was scheduled. If a team has moved up, and whether or not the problem was fixed and they stay at that class or not, it’s that team's the last weekend at that class.
